Get Some Fresh Air

What keeps us alive. Of course we cannot get by for long if even one of these essentials is missing. Without good food we could only last two or three weeks. Without water, we would die in a matter of days. Without fresh air, we could not live more than a few minutes. More important than the food we eat, or the water we drink, is the blessed pure air we breathe. It is indeed, the elixir of life. The very best locations for enjoying the benefits of fresh air are at the seashore, the mountains, or in the country, away from city life. It is imperative that we distance ourselves from poisonous fumes, second hand exhalations, dust, decay and putrefaction. It is even unwise to sleep near a composter. Many well meaning people have placed composters in their backyards in an effort to produce an organic garden and get back to nature. No waste vegetables or piles of decaying leaves should be permitted to poison the air near or within the home. The warmth and moisture associated with decaying vegetable or animal matter promotes germs and mould. Spores are then released into the air and they in turn are active in the production of disease. While pure fresh air is...

The Power Of Your Thoughts

Throughout the ages mankind has attempted to control his world around him by many different means. In the physical world we have invented all kinds of ways to make our lives better. If you believe the bible then in the beginning everything was perfect, mankind was in need of nothing. God took care of everything, He provided food and not much else because there was no need for much else. Mankind did not even need clothes. Can you imagine that, everybody going around totally naked. Anyway if we are to believe the bible, and I do by the way , I am a Christian, mankind began to look out for themselves after the story of thru fist sin. The first item they made was clothes. Thereafter we have been constantly inventing and making anything that will make life easier for ourselves, from houses to cars, boats, airplanes, microwave etc, etc. Look around you, with every glance of the eye you will see something that mankind has made in an attempt to better out lives. That is unless you are in the middle of some untouched part of the world where man has yet to disturb and even then you are probably not naked. We must admit that as far as material things go we have...

Get Lucky

Ready to get lucky. There are many very specific techniques for generating luck in your life. One of the simplest is to just start looking for good luck. Yes, it really can be as simple as that. Maybe you have noticed that when you buy a new car, you start to see similar cars all over. Of course they were there before, but now you are seeing them, because you are looking. It works this way with luck too. Start looking for luck and you ll find it. Start counting the ways you are already lucky, and you ll have even more luck. Get Lucky Today Some will tell you that God or the universe brings luck into your life once there s grattitude in your heart. It s a nice thought, but not my style. A less spiritual explanation is that when you acknowledge luck, and you look for more, you create a certain frame of mind. This frame of mind helps you take advantage of opportunities you might otherwise not recognize. For example, if you are looking for a job, and a friend mentions a new business in town that is hiring, you might usually think nothing of it. Now, if you were watching for luck, and grateful for the good luck you ve seen in your life, you might be more...

Casting Off And Setting Sail Taking Off The Mask---moving Ahead Making A Difference--serving

You have dreams, don t you. Perhaps, as mine once were, they have been obscured by time, hidden in the dark recesses of your mind, or slumbering undisturbed in your heart. Have you forgotten them entirely. Or occasionally, do they cross your mind, peek out from their hiding places, making a timid leap in your bosom, only to be hushed silent by you again and again. There is something about the spirit of man that denies total unconsciousness. There is something about the spirit of man that defies stagnation. Fight as we may, You can t do that. You d never achieve that. You re too old now. You re not good enough, bright enough, talented enough. yet, we cannot hush the gentle whispers that come in more quiet moments. They vigilantly reappear like old friends, don t they. You ve felt that surge of hope at times. Someone taking time to believe in you, to remind you of your incredible worth. You smiled. You closed your eyes. You imagined. Your dreams came alive again and the world was your oyster. And then you opened your eyes and your smile faded, your vision vanished, your hope disappeared. Isn t it time to get off the merry-go-round. This is your life...

Embracing Life When Losing A Loved One

Five years ago my husband Walter, a devoted father and legendary Chicago Bears running back, succumbed to cancer. Not a day goes by that I don t miss him. But since his passing, I ve realized there are many ways to embrace life before and after the unthinkable happens. Preparing for death is not something we re instinctively ready to do, but the truth is, every family faces loss. With that, there are emotional and financial steps we must take to ensure that we continue living out our hopes and dreams. It s what our loved ones want most for us. Live life to the fullest. While they re healthy, couples should develop life lists with joint and individual, short- and long-term goals. They ll have peace knowing they re doing everything they can to enjoy life - and each other. Balance your support system. Friends, family and faith gave me strength during Walter s illness. Everyone has different support needs. Don t be afraid to turn to a professional for counseling. Champion the legacy. Children brought tremendous joy to Walter. Through the Walter Connie Payton Foundation, I share - and keep alive - his commitment to making a difference in the lives of...
